Spaces thatfeellike you.
A Kolkata heritage furnishings house with twenty years of craft behind it needed a brand and a site that felt as quiet as the catalogue.
Visit live siteOnset began in 2006 when Kavita Jhunjhunwala turned leftover fabrics from the family export house into hand-crafted cushions. In 2020 it was reborn as Onset Homes. Our brief was to slow the internet down to match the pace of the work.
- 01 An editorial-commerce front-end that reads like a magazine spread.
- 02 A turnkey-projects narrative microsite for soft-furnishing clients.
- 03 A press strip pulling Vogue India, Elle Decor, Architect & Interiors, Good Homes.
- 04 A first-person founder story page in Kavita's own voice.

A residential mark.
Not a corporate one.
AYB built the brand from a single observation — Onset's pieces draw from the textile heritage of Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Bengal, translated for the modern home. The voice is first-name, never "Sir/Madam."
Built for the way it'll be read.
Branding and engineering
at the same desk.
The compressed timeline made handoff impossible — so we didn't. AYB and Stacksmiths sat in one Slack, one Figma, one daily standup.
- W1–2
Discovery
Studio visits, supplier interviews, an audit of every Vogue/Elle Decor mention. A naming workshop produced 'Spaces that feel like you' — the line that ran the rest of the project.
- W3–4
Brand
AYB locked the logo, palette, and tone in two weeks. Stacksmiths reviewed every system decision against motion and small screens before AYB committed.
- W5–7
Build
An editorial-commerce front-end on a headless catalogue. Custom typography (PPEiko Thin + Nexa Bold). Sales team trained on the CMS in a single 90-min session.
- W8–9
Launch
Soft launch to press contacts. Hard launch with a turnkey-projects micro-site for B2B leads. Inbound from Vogue and Elle within the first month.
Twenty years of craft,
told properly online.

“Rooted in craftsmanship and driven by design, we chose to slow things down in a fast-paced world.”
— Onset Homes, About
The visual system pairs a thin custom serif (PPEiko) with a confident sans (Nexa Bold). Generous whitespace, arrow-led CTAs, and a press strip cite Vogue India, Elle Decor, Architect & Interiors, Good Homes, and Hindustan Times.
